For Holly’s birthday this year we chartered a Pooch Pontoon on Lake Lanier for an afternoon. Basically, they cover the boat in birthday decorations and then ferry you to an island where the dogs can run around off-leash. What’s not to love?

Boat trip

We invited my Rachel, Andy and their dog Luna to join us. The ride was just as hilarious as it looks. the boat was completely covered in birthday decorations including tiny captains hats for the pups.

We all pose for a picture on the front of the boat.

Remi looks a little pensive about being on the boat.

The island

The boat ride to the island lasted about 45 minutes. We landed on a small island in the middle of the lake where the dogs could run off leash for the afternoon. It took a lot of coaxing, but we did get dogs together for a quick picture.

The ride home

All-in-all it was a fantastic trip. Everyone was tired by the we were ready to get home. Would absolutely recommend an outing in the Pooch Pontoon.
