One of my favorite things when traveling is getting up early, walking around the city and taking pictures. You get fantastic lighting and most people aren’t up yet, which makes it much easier to frame shots.
I was in New Orleans for several days. It was my buddy Matt’s bachelor party. It was a great time. We chartered a jet in and rented a house in French Quarter.
It’s certainly more difficult for me to party than it used to be. We didn’t do much partying the last night. We hung around the house and had a beer or two. Of course that made for a much easier morning. I got up around 6am and started walking around, taking photos. Obviously, there is very little going on in a city like New Orleans at 6am. That made for some great shots though!

As I said earlier, we chartered a flight there, which was really cool. It was like calling a Lyft. You hang out at the terminal the plane pulls up and you get in.
No security, no rushing down the concourse to your gate. It was really a fantastic experience. I see why people fly private!

Also, it wouldn’t be a trip to New Orleans without something completely ridiculous. So here’s a shot of me with a bejewled steampunk conductor hat.
